Where we think trading is going
Exchange trading will overtake traditional betting.
Bookmakers take a margin. Exchanges let you set your own price and trade both sides. As more people figure that out, exchange volume will keep growing. The tools people trade with need to keep up.
Windows-only is a dead end.
Most Betfair trading software still only runs on Windows. If you're on Mac, you need Parallels or a VPS. If you're on mobile, you're stuck with the Betfair app. That's not good enough. Traders work from different devices, in different places. The software should follow them, not the other way around.
Speed will keep separating winners from losers.
In-play markets are getting faster. The window to act on a price move is shrinking. Software that adds even a fraction of latency between your decision and the order book is costing you money. We treat speed as the single most important thing we build for.
Trading tools should help you trade, not impress you with features.

How we got here
Traderline started in 2011 in Coimbra, Portugal. The founders were trading on Betfair and the available software was either too slow, too complicated, or locked to Windows. So they built something better.
In 2025, we made a call that most companies wouldn't: we threw out the entire legacy codebase and rebuilt from zero. Not an update, not a migration. A complete rebuild designed for cross-platform from day one. The new Traderline is the fastest version we've ever shipped, and it runs everywhere.
The team
Four founders with backgrounds in engineering, trading, and building technology companies at scale.
We're based in Coimbra, Portugal, at the Instituto Pedro Nunes technology incubator next to the University of Coimbra.

Traderline is officially certified by Betfair and listed on the Betfair App Directory. We connect through their official API via a secure, private connection. Your login credentials are never stored or accessed by Traderline.
We never touch your money
Traderline is a software interface, not a gambling operator. We don't hold, process, or manage any funds. All betting, account management, and money is handled exclusively by the exchange (Betfair). We are just the tool you trade with.
